Position Description & Responsibilities:
Two new positions have been approved for the Management Services department at Henry Ford Health System. These positions will be dedicated, one each to our Emergency Department at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, and the ED service line, and one to our Operating Room at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit to focus on process improvements that will reduce waste and contribute to financial return for the organization. Reporting to the Director, Management Services, and with supervision from the HFH Manager of Performance Improvement, the Clinical Performance Specialist of Management Services, is responsible for the facilitation of multiple continuous improvement efforts and applies a variety of improvement methodologies (including lean, six sigma, theory of constraints, TQM, and human factors design) and group management techniques to support individuals and teams through process improvement initiatives. Provides primary support to assigned areas in relation to process improvement and quality improvement. Works collaboratively with leadership to increase efficiencies, decrease costs, reduce variability, reduce errors/defects, and involve all appropriate personnel. This individual teaches others continuous improvement concepts and tools and works closely with other process improvement personnel to collaborate and synergize improvement efforts. Individual is expected to continuously learn and apply new continuous improvement methodologies, and to help spread successful innovation throughout their assigned area and the institution. Flexibility, innovation, and creativity are necessary characteristics of the successful candidate.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in a health care related field. Minimum of two years of relevant experience. Previous healthcare, quality improvement, or consulting experience preferred.
